Double Edge Safety Razor with hand-turned black and white ebony handle

A double edge brass plated safety razor handle with a handmade black and white ebony handle. The dramatic sap and heart wood mixture makes for a very unique piece. The hardware is brass plated to give it a golden hue and accents the sap wood nicely. Handle easily wipes dry after use. There is a razor blade already installed in the head and a pack of 5 Astra blades are also included. These are the same blades that Chris uses on a daily basis. He's found that for about $30 on Amazon, a package of 300 blades are easily found. If each side of the blade is used about 3 times, someone will find they have about 3 years of shaving needs taken care of from less than one pack of 5 cartridge razors. The whole razor is 4 1/4 inches in length. A simple chrome razor stand is included for blade storage. We buy the components for the razors as a kit from a woodturning supplier, not a razor manufacturer. That supplier has not provided us with specifics about the head's manufacturing or the handle's interchangeability with other heads. However, a few of our previous customers have told us that our handles have worked well with Edwin Jagger and Muhle heads that they have purchased elsewhere.
